2.1. Volkan Ozduran: Leakage Rate Analysis for Untrusted RIS Under Non-Orthogonal CCI in 6G Bands
Abstract - This paper investigates the leakage rate (LR) performance of an untrusted reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) in the presence of non-orthogonal co-channel interference (CCI), which arises from nearby randomly deployed non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmissions. In addition, to mitigate the information leakage, a limited number of friendly jammers are randomly deployed to interfere with the untrusted RIS. The analysis considers active, passive, and absorptive operating modes of the RIS. Outage probability is employed for the LR analysis, and both analytical and asymptotic expressions are validated through Monte Carlo simulations. The results demonstrate that while non-orthogonal CCI and friendly jammers slightly degrade system performance, this degradation is effectively mitigated by increasing the number of reflecting elements. Moreover, as the RIS becomes larger, the adverse impact of non-orthogonal CCI is significantly reduced.
3.1. Pavle Bugarcic, Nenad Jevtic, Marija Malnar: Enhancement of Routing Protocols for VANETs and FANETs Using Machine Learning
Abstract - The exceptional dynamism of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) and flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) significantly complicates the process of selecting the optimal route for packet delivery, leading to a degradation of overall network performance. A highly effective way to overcome this issue is the integration of machine learning (ML) into the routing process, with a particular emphasis on a type of ML known as reinforcement learning (RL). One of the most important types of RL for VANETs and FANETs is Q-learning (QL). This paper presents an overview of the most significant RL-based routing protocols for VANETs and FANETs, along with their classification and comparison. Furthermore, a novel QL-based dynamic routing algorithm for urban VANETs (Q DRAV) is introduced, which significantly improves their overall network performance. Simulation analysis and comparison of the new and existing routing protocols were conducted using the NS-3 simulator.
4.1. Vukan Ninkovic, Dejan Vukobratovic: Learning Binary Autoencoder-Based Codes with Progressive Training
Abstract - Error-correcting codes play a central role in digital communication, ensuring that transmitted information can be accurately reconstructed despite channel impairments. Recently, autoencoder (AE)-based approaches have gained attention for the end-to-end design of communication systems, offering a data driven alternative to conventional coding schemes. However, enforcing binary codewords within differentiable AE architectures remains difficult, as discretization breaks gradient flow and often leads to unstable convergence. To overcome this limitation, a simplified two-stage training procedure is proposed, consisting of a continuous pretraining phase followed by direct binarization and fine-tuning without gradient approximation techniques. For the (7,4) block configuration over a binary symmetric channel (BSC), the learned encoder–decoder pair learns a rotated version (coset code) of the optimal Hamming code, naturally recovering its linear and distance properties and thereby achieving the same block error rate (BLER) with maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding. These results indicate that compact AE architectures can effectively learn structured, algebraically optimal binary codes through stable and straightforward training.
7.1. Nikola Petrović, Marija Petrović, Vladimir Milovanović: From Front-End to Perception: A Chisel Generator for Low-Latency FMCW Radar Signal Processing
Abstract - A Chisel-based, highly configurable hardware generator for FMCW radar signal processing that emits synthesizable range–Doppler FFT pipelines tailored to front-end parameters and inter-ramp timing is presented. The generator parameters that include FFT size, pipeline depth, butterfly type, fixed-point word lengths, and rounding/saturation modes, make the latency/throughput/area trade-offs explicit, enabling rapid design space exploration across operating regimes. Generated instances can be tailored to the specific radar front-end in use and integrate cleanly with higher-level perception stacks. In addition, a dedicated low-latency path for target range detection reduces end-to-end detection latency for near-field targets.
7.8. Marko Milivojčević, Dejan Ćirić: Acoustic Classification of Internal Combustion Engines According to Fuel Type
Abstract - This work presents an overview of research based on the fact that the human ear can distinguish between gasoline and diesel engines by sound alone. As part of the study, an acquisition system was developed with an innovative microphone placement, improving upon existing approaches and enabling the creation of a high-quality audio database collected in real-world conditions. The database was analyzed to identify the most relevant acoustic features, which were then used as inputs for machine learning and deep learning algorithms. The proposed approach achieved a high level of accuracy in classifying engines according to fuel type.
10.8. Radenko Banovic, Dragan Kukolj, Ilija Basicevic: A Hybrid Approach to Efficient Adaptive Multimedia Streaming
Abstract - Video streaming represents the dominant type of traffic on the Internet today, with MPEG Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) being the leading standard for adaptive video delivery. The main goal of streaming services is to provide the best possible Quality of Experience (QoE) to the user, and one of the most critical components in achieving this is the adaptation algorithm, which selects the most appropriate video representation under the variable network conditions. Numerous adaptive bitrate (ABR) algorithms aiming to improve the QoE have been proposed, mainly following two approaches: based on measured throughput values (traditional approach), and those relying on the prediction of throughput for the next segment download. This paper presents a novel hybrid DASH adaptation algorithm approach that combines the traditional measurement-based approach with throughput prediction to improve users QoE. An ablation study was conducted to identify the Takagi-Sugeno- Kang (TSK) model that provides the most accurate prediction of network throughput. Four key QoE metrics were considered in the experimental evaluation: average bitrate, the number of bitrate transitions, the magnitude of bitrate changes, and the duration of buffer underruns (the time during which multimedia playback is stalled). The proposed algorithm outperformed all evaluated algorithms across all QoE metrics.
11.1. Nenad Petrović, Suad Suljović: Agentic GenAI-Driven Network Management: Outage Probability of Relay Signal Transmission Using DF Technique under BX Fading Case Study
Abstract - This paper explores the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to network design and management in order to achieve automated maintenance in modern telecommunications. Leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), the proposed framework enables intelligent reasoning, modeling, and automation of network operations, including both the design- and run-time aspects. As a case study, the framework is applied to outage probability estimation in a dual-hop Decode-and Forward (DF) relay system under Beaulieu-Xie (BX) fading. The results confirm that GenAI-assisted workflows can significantly reduce effort and time while maintaining accuracy, demonstrating their potential to enhance automation, reliability, and efficiency in next-generation 5G/6G network management.
11.9. Teodora Novković, Jelena Kovačević, Ivan Kaštelan: A Uniform Framework for Testing Embedded Audio Systems: Methodology and Experimental Validation
Abstract - The increasing complexity of latest-generation audio technologies such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and MPEG-H poses significant challenges in the development, testing, and certification of embedded audio systems. Current testing practices are resource-intensive, and often rely on technology specific tools, resulting in limited reusability and long-lasting certification processes. This paper presents a uniform framework for testing embedded audio systems, developed to unify and standardize testing procedures across diverse technologies and platforms. The proposed solution CUTE (Completely Unifying Test Executor), introduces modular architecture with unified APIs, multi-agent distributed execution, and IoT-enabled recovery mechanisms. Together with the GRANT (Generator of Random Tests) tool, this framework enables automated generation of test cases, extended coverage, and reduced manual effort. The framework was validated on multiple state-of-the-art audio technologies. Experimental results demonstrated significant improvements: faster error detection, reduced test execution time, lower code complexity and improved team productivity. The contributions of this work include a novel methodology for framework development, implementation of uniform testing framework, and comprehensive experimental validation. The results confirm effectiveness of a uniform framework that provides standardized and scalable testing of latest-generation embedded audio systems.
11.10. Stefan Tubić, Zaharije Radivojević, Miloš Cvetanović, Saša Stojanović: An alternative architectural language for modeling complex software systems
Abstract - Describing architectures of complex software systems involves multiple viewpoints and views which is supported by a number of architectural languages by creating views in separate places. This paper presents AFD an alternative architectural language for modeling complex software systems through functional decomposition and creation of views side by side. AFD streamlines translation of created descriptions to other architectural languages. Experiences with AFD in describing architectures of complex software systems and solving problems are also presented.
